Triumph: Portraits of Opposition

March 9 - June 9, 2018

Special Exhibition Wing

Triumph: Portraits of Opposition uses the portraiture of artist Jac Lahav to examine oppression and opposition: two literal and figurative elements of humanity present from the beginning of recorded time. Whether presenting itself in the shape of politics, slavery, mental distress, or violence, prejudice and oppression have and continue to cause trauma and wounds that can never fully heal. In spite of this, triumph and achievement are a common thread woven through the stories found in this exhibition.
